Giving Back is a food program sponsored by The Tabernacle and supported by its members and affiliates.

In the first two months starting June 12, 2007 Giving Back has supplied groceries to over 200 families, approximately 650 people.

Giving Back in collaboration with Food Share of Hartford, (a national established food bank) sets up a mobile food pantry every other Tuesday at 9:30am. Tuesday’s are primarily produce, depending on availability, also breads and some non-perishables.

Giving Back on every other Saturday at 10:00am sets up the mobile pantry with a more substantial variety of groceries; including, when available, toiletries and infant products.

Boutique on Wheels

Included in Giving Back is a clothing drive called Boutique on Wheels, twice a year they distribute clothing free of charge for men, women, and children.

The seasons bring different challenges, Giving Back has already provided school supplies for elementary grades, and intends when possible, to supply the different needs that arise with each season.

Donors require that all recipients be qualified to avoid fraud. Giving Back does this with the utmost care and respect, it’s all about people.

The Tabernacle is a Contemporary Christian Church here to meet the needs of our community with food, clothing, encouragement and spiritual support.
